Introduction to Midstream

Learn more about the midstream industry

The midstream sector is a vital part of the North American oil and gas industry. After crude oil and natural gas are extracted from thousands of wells operated by the upstream sector, midstream companies purify and transport these raw materials to make them into consumer products like gasoline and plastics. Midstream “connects” the upstream and downstream energy segments efficiently and safely every day.

GPSA Data Book Training

Training & Certification Course

Since 1935, field and plant engineers have relied on the GPSA Engineering Data Book to determine operating and design parameters for gas processing facilities. The book — now hosted digitally in the GPA Midstream Document Cloud — provides accepted engineering practices for estimating, feasibility studies, preliminary design and for making operating decisions.

Chromatography School

GPA Midstream School of Gas Chromatography

The school covers basic gas and gas-liquid chromatography with an introduction to extended analysis. This is a hands-on curriculum for chromatograph operators, measurement technicians and engineers involved with chromatography. The training consists of lectures, demonstrations and chromatograph operation with emphasis on machine demonstration and operation. Natural gas and natural gas liquid samples will be analyzed.
