The Advocacy Advisory Group (AAG) is composed of a small number (5-6) of members in a vice president or director position. The AAG coordinates with the open advocacy committees and GPA Midstream staff, on long-term advocacy strategy. The aim is to focus the association on priority issues and provide high-level guidance to the committees, which have technical expertise and can better understand the legislative and regulatory impacts on midstream companies.

The AAG and open advocacy committees engage in regular two-way communication, with the AAG providing guidance to staff and volunteers. Open advocacy committees working with the AAG include:

  • Environmental Committee, including Natural Resources Subcommittee
  • Legislative Committee
  • Pipeline Safety Committee
  • Regulatory Committee
  • GPSA Advocacy Committee
