“America’s growing energy needs require a permitting system that is efficient, predictable and capable of delivering the infrastructure our nation depends on,” said GPA Midstream President and CEO Sarah Miller. “Our members construct and operate the essential midstream infrastructure that connects American energy production with homes, businesses, manufacturers and the rapidly growing power needs of data centers and artificial intelligence. We cannot meet that demand without the ability to build, maintain and modernize infrastructure in a timely manner.”
GPA Midstream appreciates the bipartisan work that went into developing the proposal and is encouraged by provisions addressing environmental review timelines, Clean Water Act permitting, judicial review, regulatory certainty, and modernization of existing energy infrastructure.
“Meaningful permitting reform is about more than approving projects faster. It’s about providing certainty that allows companies to make long-term investments in safe, reliable, and affordable American energy infrastructure,” Miller said. “We look forward to reviewing the legislation with our members and working with lawmakers in both parties as Congress moves this important conversation forward.”
