GPA Midstream released the following statement:
GPA Midstream applauds the National Petroleum Council (NPC) for initiating two important studies at the request of U.S. Energy Secretary, Chris Wright. These studies make recommendations to address key challenges impacting energy infrastructure and the reliability of America’s energy system.
The first study updates the permitting section of NPC’s 2019 Dynamic Delivery report, offering practical recommendations to streamline permitting and siting processes under current laws and regulations. GPA Midstream appreciates the study’s emphasis on the need for judicial reform.
The second study focused on gas-electric coordination, examining how growing demand for natural gas and electricity is straining pipeline capacity and posing reliability risks. As a critical part of America’s energy supply chain, GPA Midstream members support efforts to ensure reliability.
Both studies provide actionable strategies, and GPA Midstream looks forward to collaborating with stakeholders to advance the recommendations relative to midstream operators.
